Governance
The Governing Body
The Governing Body has an important place in the life of the College. They are responsible for deciding the College's educational character, the College's financial health, the terms of employment of senior staff and the framework of employment conditions for other staff. These responsibilities are set out in the Instrument and Articles of Government – part of education law made under the Further and Higher Education Act.
The Governors and Their Roles
The Secretary of State for Education makes changes in the Instrument and Articles of Government from time to time. As well as setting out the duties of governors, the Instrument and Articles lay down the size of the governing body and its composition. RFDC has governors in the different categories set out in the Instrument and Articles.
