Adult Guidance
We recognise the importance of honest, impartial guidance to help you choose your course. The Adult Guidance Service is free and available to adults in the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas, and is available throughout the year. Appointments are held at the Five Acres Campus but can be arranged at other locations in the area by request, and in some cases outside of normal office hours.
What does the service offer?
Information, advice and guidance on learning, work and career opportunities for adults. We are accredited to the matrix Quality Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance Services. We also offer Universal services interviews for nextstep Southwest Regional Partnership.
How can the service help me?
It can provide you with:
- Careers advice
- Help and advice on the best educational and employment route for you
- Help with personal goal setting and support whilst you are studying or training
- Help with CV writing and interview skills
- Advice about any financial help that is available to you whilst you are studying or training
- Help with childcare arrangements, including the nursery on site at Five Acres, childminders and after school facilities
- We can also talk on your behalf to other people who might help
